1. Manuscript & Preparation

Send me your manuscript - I’ll go over it and check for readability, structure, and any potential errors
Together, we’ll discuss the style and tone (e.g., of the characters) for the recording
Markings for emphasis, pauses, and rhythm will be included as stage directions

2. Recordings in the studio

Your book will be recorded in my soundproof studio
Equipment:
- Microphone: Neumann TLM 49
- Preamp: Presonus Studio Channel
- Audio interface: Behringer UMC404HD U-Phoria
- Booth: Desone Box
I’ll create a sample (e.g., the first chapter) to give you a preview of the final audiobook - once you approve it, I’ll record the entire book
approx. 100 pages / 3 hours of final listening time = approx. one day of recording

3. Cut & Mastering

Slips of the tongue, breathing sounds, unintended pauses, and background noise - it’s all edited out
Your audiobook is cleanly edited and saved chapter by chapter
the volume is normalized to the ACX standard (Audible, iTunes, Amazon)
–23 dB to –18 dB RMS / Peak level max. –3 dBFS / Noise below –60 dB
Export as MP3, min. 192 kbps (Constant Bit Rate)

4. Approval & Distribution

You’ll receive the finished production for approval
any requested changes or corrections will be incorporated
all audio files will be mastered and provided to you via a download link
I’ll assist you with uploading via Feiyr, Bookwire, or ACX
I still need the following from you: cover (square), blurb, and metadata (author, narrator, genre)
Your audiobook will be available on all major audio platforms, such as Audible, Spotify, and Apple Books
